Nathan RIHET
(ネイサン・リヘ)
Full-Stack Engineer X Visual Content Creator
The TL;DR for Busy Recruiters
What I Do: I turn AI from buzzword to business impact. I design and deploy full-stack systems that ship fast, scale well, and deliver measurable ROI.
Tech DNA:
- Frontend: TypeScript/React/Next.js (3+ years, production-grade)
- Backend: Python/FastAPI/LangChain (RAG systems processing 10K+ docs in <2s)
- AI/ML: OpenAI, MongoDB Vector Search, Custom evaluation frameworks
- DevOps: Docker, AWS, GitHub Actions
Recent Wins:
- Bootstrapped DocsRetriever SaaS → 10 paying enterprise clients (tech & legal sectors) in 3 months.
- Taught an AI course that got students hired with the tech we built in class.
- Migrated legacy Flask to async FastAPI → 60% performance gain for a core API.
Looking For: Full-stack/Backend/AI roles in teams that ship fast and think big.
My Journey: From Networks to Neural Networks
🎓 Foundations in Networks & Code
My path started unconventionally with a degree in Networks & Telecoms. It gave me a deep understanding of infrastructure, but my first Python script ignited a passion for building, not just connecting.
🛠️ Full-Stack Specialization
As a Full-Stack Developer on the MEAN stack, I moved beyond scripts to ship full applications. I learned to build and maintain production systems, automating CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and managing Linux environments.
🌐 Going Global in AI
Academic exchange at Université Laval (Canada) to specialize in AI from NLP to generative models. Built applied AI projects with FastAPI, LangChain, and MLSP.
🤖 Enterprise AI & Impact at Scale
At Capgemini, I architected production GenAI applications. I built a RAG system that cut document search time from 15 minutes to 2 seconds for 200+ employees, led a Flask to FastAPI migration that boosted API performance by 60%, and automated deployments with Terraform. During this time, I also designed and taught an AI course for 20+ Master's students at Université Côte d'Azur.
🚀 The Leap: Osaka & SaaS
I took a calculated risk: left my job and relocated to Osaka, Japan, to build from zero. In under three months, I launched DocsRetriever, a B2B SaaS, and single-handedly acquired my first 10+ paying enterprise clients by solving their real-world document search problems.
A non-linear path from networks to code, from France to Japan is my greatest asset. Photography taught me that composition matters as much in code as in a photo. My networking background means I understand the full stack, down to the metal. And launching a business taught me to ship solutions that don't just work they provide immediate, measurable value.
Technical Stack Deep Dive
Frontend
- TypeScript (3+ years)
- React/Next.js 15
- Tailwind/Framer Motion
- Three.js for 3D
Backend & AI
- Python/FastAPI
- LangChain/OpenAI
- MongoDB Atlas Vector
- Custom RAG systems
DevOps
- Docker/Compose
- AWS/Azure/Vercel
- GitHub Actions
- Terraform IaC
Why These Choices Matter
TypeScript over JavaScript: Because undefined is not a function
at 3 AM isn't fun.
FastAPI over Flask: Async Python + automatic OpenAPI docs = happy life.
MongoDB Atlas Vector Search: Pinecone is great until you see the invoice.
Custom VPS over Vercel: Sometimes you need to SSH and fix things yourself.
Why Osaka?
The Comfort Trap: Working in France in a big company was safe. Too safe. Growth needs discomfort.
The Japan Factor:
- 職人 (Shokunin) spirit matches how I code
- Digital cliff diving into a new culture
- Innovation meets tradition
- (I definitely love takoyaki)
Current Status:
- Location: Osaka (trains make anywhere accessible)
- Visa: Working Holiday (seeking sponsorship)
- Japanese: N5+ (dev discussions possible)
- English : Fluent
- French: Native
- Availability: Immediate
Let's Build Something Together
You get:
- Production-ready code from day one
- Someone who's built and scaled AI systems
- Cross-cultural perspective (France → Canada → Japan)
- Documentation that developers actually want to read
I'm looking for:
- Teams that ship weekly, not yearly
- Problems worth losing sleep over
- Companies ready to sponsor the right talent
- Cultures where "good enough" isn't good enough
Currently in Osaka, ready to contribute anywhere in Japan
Let's build something that matters.
